Om, Consciousness – it is the Energy of the universe and it shines in our lives and in all creation.  Surya Namaskara (Salutation to the Sun) celebrates our awakening to the Source of all energy.

Surya Namaskara is a series of yoga poses linked together in sequence.  There are limitless variations of the series, but all begin in Tadasana (Standing) and move through Bhujangasana (Cobra), and Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog).  Some versions incorporate Virabhadrasana I (Warrior I), or a variation of a lunging pose.  They then cycle back through the poses to Tadasana ready to begin again, much like our sun’s daily passages.
